I’m so excited to share Julie & Paul’s gorgeous wedding today! Julie & Paul are kind of experts in getting photographed in bad weather. Their first engagement session in their home state of Washington happened in snow up to their knees. Then, when they visited Appleton earlier this year, it drizzled on us the entire time. They took it in stride, laughing the entire time! I checked the weather about 100 times in the days leading up to their Appleton wedding, trying to will the forecast to change and show a sunny day. Mother nature, decided these two needed a good dose of good luck, and they didn’t let the rain affect their beautiful day at all!
Though it started to rain right after their first look, the skies cleared long enough for them to have a perfect ceremony at the Scheig Center. The wildflowers were in full bloom, and accompanied their colors perfectly! Their bridal party saved the day by being my umbrella holders during family portraits. Tremaine Ranch, based in Phoenix, expertly styled the ceremony and reception space. I loved how Julie & Paul used vintage books as part of their reception decor!
Their reception was so much fun! Maid of Honor Liz told the story about how Julie earned her nickname “Beats” and Best Man David explained how he knew Julie was the one for Paul when she went on an adventure to nowhere with them. Julie & Paul could not stop smiling during their first dance and one of my favorite moments was when Paul danced with his mom to the Backstreet Boys. It was such a perfect day!
Julie & Paul, thank you so much for having me capture your wedding day. I wish you both a lifetime of joy, happiness (and sunshine!)
