Mary Ellen & Mike met at Notre Dame during their sophomore year. After years knowing each other through their mutual friend group, they went on their first date while both of them were living in Chicago. After two years together, Mike popped the question in Chicago, surprising her with a big box that she thought was a present for a cousin that he retrieved for Mary Ellen while pretending to need some gum. Inside the box, there were mementos, cards and photos from the last two years, each with a post it note explaining why he had included it. They celebrated the night with their family in one of their favorite cities!
Their wedding took place at the beautiful Union League Club in Chicago, Illinois. The gentlemen got ready at the Club, while the ladies got ready in Mary Ellen’s childhood home in Glen Ellyn. They shared a joyful first look on Lake Ellyn, followed by a cheerful toast with their friends and family. The ceremony at Saint Petronille was simply perfect and followed by a bubble send off! The wild greenery paired with the classic style in the Union League Club was the perfect combination for their reception decor. I loved the heartfelt toasts given by their siblings, followed by an absolutely packed dance floor!
Congratulations Mary Ellen and Mike! It was such a joy being able to capture your day and I’m so excited for you both!!
