McKenna and Eddy both grew up in the Lake Geneva area, and it’s where their story began. When life took them in different directions; Eddy to West Point and McKenna to Madison, they wrote countless letters to each other as they continued their relationship long distance, but they knew when they started this new chapter of their relationship, it had to be back where their story began. I cannot even express in words what an amazing day they shared. Each started in their family homes before the men headed to McKenna’s house for their first look. McKenna’s parents were so helpful the morning of the wedding, making sure no one came down the drive so that McKenna and Eddy could have the perfect first look. McKenna seeing her dad right before walking to surprise Eddy was one of my favorite parts of the entire day! McKenna helped Eddy pin on his boutonniere, in the same spot they stood years before when she did the same thing before prom. Their bridal party was so kind and fun and we had a blast heading down to the lakefront for a few photos before heading to the church.
Their ceremony at St. Francis De Sales was perfect! The church recently went through a big renovation and was absolutely beautiful. After mass, the couple greeted each of their guests in the receiving line before we headed to Hawk’s View Golf Course for the reception. I loved that McKenna and Eddy incorporated parts of Eddy’s Lithuanian heritage during the day. Most of the desserts were made by his family, and the parents surprised the couple with a Lithuanian wedding tradition during the grand march. The bread, salt, and wine symbolize joy, tears, and work; the three elements of a life together. To bring a little of West Point to the day, the couple, of course, had to cut the cake with Eddy’s saber! After a gorgeous sunset and watching the full moon rise, McKenna and Eddy danced the night away and ended the night with a joyful sparkler send off! I love that they ran back through and did it twice!!
McKenna & Eddy, thank you so much for including me in your day, it was such a joy and I wish you both all the happiness in the world!
