A few weeks ago, my friend Amy invited me to join her to attend a floral arranging workshop and I am so glad she did. I had been looking into a few workshops out of state that were more experience & knowledge based than photography based, and being able to attend a workshop that was still wedding related and in Milwaukee was a total bonus! Plus, cocktails with a friend on a Sunday afternoon? Yes please! Here is a quick summary of the Pop of Spring Floral Workshop!
The girls at Mint & Lovely put on a wonderful workshop with lots of laughter, knowledge, and seriously amazing presentation. Their attention to detail was impeccable, and I felt like I was surrounded by a group of friends rather than a group of strangers. Hot Pop, located in Milwaukee’s Third Ward on Water Street, was a unique venue that added a fun twist to a more traditional workshop. Emily from Belle Fiori gave a fantastic tutorial that made me feel like I actually knew what I was doing and helped us design the prettiest (and soooooo good smelling) spring bouquet that made our house feel so happy even with the gloomy weather we experienced later that week.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience that led me to meet many of Milwaukee & Madison’s fabulous wedding vendors . SO much creativity in one room! In the future, I definitely think investing in an experience is the way to go – you get to learn a new skill and continue pursuing knowledge that can help you later in life. As much as I love business workshops, it was a fun twist to do something totally out of the box for me. Plus, I now know many names of flowers that in the past I referred to as that cute pink one, or that fuzzy thing, so it was definitely education as well as fun. Belle Fiori provided several floral recipes, which I am excited to go out and try this summer and getting flowers (that I know the names of now!) from our local Farmers Market.
Here are some of my (mostly cell phone) images of the day!( You can check out more of the workshop that was featured on Style Me Pretty Living here)
Thank you for the great time Mint & Lovely Studios! Make sure to sign up for their newsletter, as they are hosting several workshops throughout the year and you’ll want to be the first to know (their next event in June is already sold out!)
