My Spring Capsule Wardrobe

April 2, 2018

It’s been one year since I emptied out my closet and started doing a capsule style wardrobe.  What exactly is this you may ask? A capsule wardrobe is just a fancy way to downsize. So instead of combing through the closet for 20 minutes each morning and trying on every item, I only have a select few pieces that I can mix and match together. Especially as a mom, this makes getting ready a breeze!

One thing I’ve realized is the longer that I do this, the less money I spend. Since most of my pieces are neutral, they last more than one season. I’m still using the same green jacket this spring that I did last spring because I love it so much! It makes it nice because when I want to splurge a little at Madewell, I can!

I probably should add here, that most days I still wear yoga pants and a cardigan with one of these tops, but since they technically aren’t closet items, I’m giving them a pass 🙂

Items need to be mix and match so that I can head to a meeting with a client after a playdate, or work for a day at the studio and then go for a date night.

For Spring, my capsule consists of:

  1. Light Jacket
  2. Pair of Blue Jeans
  3. Pair of Black Ponte Pants
  4. Black Skirt
  5. Jean Skirt
  6. Denim Button Down
  7. White Short Sleeve Button Down Blouse
  8. Black Tank Top
  9. White T-Shirt
  10. Gray T-Shirt
  11. Red Tie T Shirt
  12. Graphic T

Non-Clothing, Everyday Items

  1. Ball Cap
  2. Cognac Tote
  3. Brown Flats
  4. Tennis Shoes
